The Chords Football Carnival 2025, organized by The Chords a sister concern of The Bangladesh Dialogue, turned the grounds of the International School Dhaka (ISD) into a lively hub of sports and entertainment on November 21–22, 2025,over two action-packed days, the carnival brought together young footballers, guests, and spectators for a celebration of competitive spirit and community bonding.
The tournament featured 12 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams, each competing with determination for the championship titles. Along with the prestige of winning, the teams also competed for attractive prize money. In the men’s category, the champions received BDT 1,00,000 along with a trophy and medals, while the runners-up earned BDT 40,000 with a trophy and medals. In the women’s category, the champions were awarded BDT 40,000 with a trophy and medals, and the runners up received BDT 15,000 along with a trophy and medals.
The opening day began on a high note as Aminul Haque, State Minister Of Sports , former national team captain, and SAFF champion, attended the event alongside Md Monjurul Karim, former footballer and Executive Member of the Bangladesh Football Federation. The distinguished guests officially unveiled the tournament trophy, marking the start of the carnival. Throughout the day, teams battled it out on the field, delivering several intense and exciting matches that kept the audience engaged.
The excitement peaked on the second day with the much-anticipated finals. The men’s final was inaugurated by a group of distinguished guests including Humayun Kabir, State Minister of Foreign Affairs and Joint Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of BNP; Bobby Hajjaj, State Minister Of Primary And Mass Education And President of NDM; and Dr. Maruf Ahmed Mridul, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh. The guests addressed the audience alongside Rubayat Mannan Rafi, Executive Director of The Bangladesh Dialogue, and Mirza Faiyaz Hossain, Chairman of Traliventa, highlighting the importance of youth engagement through sports.
After a series of hard-fought matches, Double Rainbow and Kishwan FC secured their places in the men’s final. In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Double Rainbow defeated Kishwan FC 5–1, claiming the championship title.
The women’s final was inaugurated by Mahmuda Habiba, a social activist and human rights defender, along with Rehana Parvin, a former national player in kabaddi, handball, and football and currently a member of the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation. The final saw Arham’s Girl Squad face Kryptic FC in a competitive and energetic match. Both teams delivered strong performances, but Arham’s Girl Squad emerged victorious with a 2–1 scoreline, securing the women’s championship.
Beyond the football matches, the carnival offered a vibrant festival-like atmosphere. Several well-known food brands, including Cheez, Madchef, Brewnique, and Beansprout, set up food stalls at the venue, giving spectators and players plenty of options to grab a bite between matches. The food court quickly became a lively meeting spot where participants and visitors gathered, adding to the festive mood of the event.
To close the carnival on a high note, a live concert was held after the final matches. The stage came alive with performances by Karnival, Sanjara Javed, and Monk in a Mug, turning the football field into a music-filled celebration. The energetic performances gave the audience a chance to relax and celebrate after two days of intense competition.Overall, the Chords Football Carnival 2025 successfully combined sports, community engagement, and entertainment in a single platform. With competitive matches, enthusiastic crowds, good food, and live music, the event created a memorable experience for both players and spectators, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for football and youth centered events in Bangladesh.
