What We Do

It is a chief goal of the Bangladesh Dialogue to create space for dialogue among different groups and ideas. Regular programs of the Bangladesh Dialogue include stakeholder dialogues, expert lectures, exhibitions, and podcasts. Each of these initiatives is designed to spark thoughtful discussion, share critical insights, and encourage a robust exchange of ideas—elements that are vital for a society in the midst of democratic transition.

The platform’s initiatives aim to promote constructive conversation and support the country’s ongoing democratic transition, and more importantly, sustain and advance the democratic process afterwards.

What Activities We Do

01.

Host Interactive Public Forums

Through TBD Perspective, we organize town-hall style events where experts, thought leaders, and citizens come together to unpack pressing national issues, challenge ideas, and actively shape the national conversation.

02.

Facilitate In-Depth Academic Research

Through TBD Lens, we provide a rigorous academic space for scholars and emerging thinkers to study complex policy areas such as constitutional reform, economic justice, and climate adaptation for long-term impact.

03.

Produce Thought-Provoking Podcasts

Through our digital program, Counternarrative, we broadcast thoughtful, engaging conversations designed to interrogate dominant societal ideas and introduce fresh, underrepresented perspectives to the public.

04.

Curate Cultural & Visual Exhibitions

Through TBD Visual Narration, we translate social and political realities into the visual and cultural realm. We use exhibitions, curated storytelling, and archives to make public issues accessible and emotionally resonant.

05.

Champion Inclusive Policy Design

We actively advocate for structural inclusivity, ensuring that the voices of marginalized groups including workers, women, ethnic minorities, and the urban poor are not just represented, but placed at the absolute center of our dialogue and policy design.

06.

Advocate for Strategic Foreign Policy

We critique foreign dependency and advocate for a foreign policy rooted in mutual interest and national dignity. Our focus areas include advancing trade justice, building climate resilience, ensuring regional cooperation, and protecting migration rights.

What We Care For!

Structural Inclusivity

We believe inclusivity is a structural necessity, not just an aspiration. We care deeply about ensuring that the voices of workers, women, youth, ethnic/religious minorities, climate-affected communities, and the urban poor are placed at the absolute center of dialogue and design.

Democratic Accountability

We care about creating a system where power is answerable and development is just. We are committed to standing at the heart of national discourse questioning, shaping, and pressing forward to ensure that democracy is continuously deepened.

Inclusive Nationalism

We champion a transformative vision of Bangladeshi nationalism. We care about protecting sovereignty, defending citizens’ rights, and honoring the original promises of liberation: the right to participate, the right to dissent, and the right to dream of a country that works for everyone.

Liberal Democracy & Pluralism

We are deeply committed to building a political culture resistant to authoritarian drift. We care about safeguarding civil liberties, encouraging pluralism, and cultivating a citizenry that is informed, empowered, and consistently engaged.

Strategic National Dignity

We care about a foreign policy guided by mutual interest rather than dependency. We actively seek partnerships that advance the real, tangible interests of the Bangladeshi people specifically focusing on trade justice, climate resilience, regional cooperation, and migration rights.

Pro-People Policy Design

We believe that no reform is meaningful if it excludes those who need it most. We care about ensuring that national policies are driven not merely by experts or technocrats, but shaped by the collective wisdom of the people, especially those historically kept at the margins.
