TBD X AUSTDC Civil Discourse Nationals 2026: School and College Rounds Wrap Up
University Final and closing ceremony, with Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as Chief Guest, set for July 29

The TBD X AUSTDC Civil Discourse Nationals 2026, jointly organised by The Bangladesh Dialogue (TBD) and the AUST Debating Club (AUSTDC), is progressing into its concluding rounds at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The School category of the tournament has concluded, with the Final round held on the first day of competition, while the College Final is being held today, marking the close of two of the three competing categories.
The tournament opened with 82 teams from schools, colleges, and universities across the country 46 in the School and College category and 36 in the University category making it one of the country’s largest inter-institution debate championships. The opening ceremony featured an address by Meherba Sabrin, Assistant General Secretary of The Bangladesh Dialogue, and was attended by Siyam Quddus Khan, Assistant Advisor of Students’ Welfare at AUST, and Fahmid Zaman Adnan, Treasurer of the AUST Debating Club.
With the School and College Final now complete and the University category having already progressed through its Semi-Finals remains the sole category still in contention, with its Final scheduled for July 29.
The tournament will formally conclude on July 29 with a closing programme at AUST, featuring Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, as Chief Guest. The day’s proceedings will include the Varsity Final, followed by the closing prize distribution ceremony honouring participants across all three categories.

দ্য বাংলাদেশ ডায়ালগ (TBD) এবং আহছানউল্লা ডিবেটিং ক্লাব (AUSTDC)-এর যৌথ আয়োজনে আহসানউল্লা বিজ্ঞান ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে (AUST) অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে TBD-X AUSTDC সিভিল ডিসকোর্স ন্যাশনালস ২০২৬। প্রতিযোগিতার প্রথম দিনে স্কুল পর্যায়ের ফাইনাল রাউন্ড অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে এবং আজ দ্বিতীয় দিন কলেজ পর্যায়ের ফাইনাল ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পর্যায়ের সেমিফাইনাল , যার মধ্য দিয়ে তিনটি ক্যাটাগরির মধ্যে দুটির সমাপ্তি ঘটছে।
দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তের স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে মোট ৮২টি দল নিয়ে শুরু হওয়া এই প্রতিযোগিতা দেশের অন্যতম বৃহৎ আন্তঃপ্রাতিষ্ঠানিক বিতর্ক প্রতিযোগিতা। এর মধ্যে স্কুল ও কলেজ ক্যাটাগরিতে ৪৬টি এবং ভার্সিটি ক্যাটাগরিতে ৩৬টি দল অংশ নিয়েছে।
উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে স্বাগত বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন দ্য বাংলাদেশ ডায়ালগ ফাউন্ডেশন এর সহকারী মহাসচিব মেহেরবা সাবরিন, এবং উপস্থিত ছিলেন AUST-এর শিক্ষার্থী কল্যাণ বিষয়ক সহকারী উপদেষ্টা সিয়াম কুদ্দুস খান ও আহছানউল্লা ডিবেটিং ক্লাবের কোষাধ্যক্ষ ফাহমিদ জামান আদনান।
স্কুল পর্যায়ের ও কলেজ পর্যায়ের ফাইনাল ইতিমধ্যে সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। ইতিমধ্যে ভার্সিটি ক্যাটাগরির সেমিফাইনাল পর্ব আজ দ্বিতীয় দিন শেষ হয়েছে । এই ক্যাটাগরির ফাইনাল রাউন্ড অনুষ্ঠিত হবে আগামী ২৯ জুলাই।
আগামী ২৯ জুলাই AUST-এ অনুষ্ঠিত সমাপনী অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে শেষ হবে এই প্রতিযোগিতা, যেখানে প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত থাকবেন গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের স্থানীয় সরকার, পল্লী উন্নয়ন ও সমবায় মন্ত্রী মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর। ওইদিনের কার্যক্রমে থাকবে ভার্সিটি পর্যায়ের ফাইনাল রাউন্ড, এরপর অনুষ্ঠিত হবে তিনটি ক্যাটাগরির অংশগ্রহণকারীদের সম্মাননা জানিয়ে সমাপনী পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান।
