The Bangladesh Dialogue Launches “KLIMA” to Advance Collaborative Climate Action
New platform will connect policymakers, investors, businesses, civil-society organisations, youth and communities to develop practical and investable climate solutions
DHAKA, 29 July 2026 — The Bangladesh Dialogue (TBD) has officially launched “KLIMA”, a collaborative platform designed to bring together national and international stakeholders to advance inclusive, locally driven climate action in Bangladesh.
The initiative was launched during TBD Lens: Session IV — “Environment as a Part of Civil
Discourse.” The KLIMA logo was formally unveiled by Dr. Saimum Parvez, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Affairs.
KLIMA will connect policymakers, investors, businesses, non-governmental organisations, international non-governmental organisations, young people, local communities and other stakeholders working on climate change and sustainable development.
With innovation at its core, the platform will promote Locally Led Adaptation (LLA), Nature-based Solutions (NbS) and meaningful civic engagement in climate action.
KLIMA aims to help transform climate initiatives into practical, investable and commercially viable solutions. It will facilitate partnerships, financing and innovation while advocating for supportive public policies and a more inclusive climate-action ecosystem.
The launch programme was attended by Prof. Dr. Mazharul Islam, Dr. Nurun Nabi and Mohammad Subail Bin Alam, alongside representatives and stakeholders engaged in environmental and climate-related initiatives.
During the session, Hasibul Islam Rafi was introduced as the Coordinator of KLIMA. He
presented the initiative’s vision for strengthening collaboration among government, the private sector, development organisations, investors, young people and communities.
Under his coordination, KLIMA will work to identify promising climate solutions, connect initiatives with potential partners and financing opportunities, and create spaces for dialogue among stakeholders. The platform will also seek to strengthen the participation of communities and young people in climate-related decision-making.
By combining policy dialogue, investment, innovation and civic participation, KLIMA intends to contribute to a climate-resilient Bangladesh in which locally grounded solutions can be developed, financed and expanded.
